Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette Dupe

If you are into makeup then you've probably heard of the Naked Palettes by Urban Decay. For those of you who are not familiar with the Naked palettes, I will list them and add a link so you can have a look. Urban Decay has the original Naked palette and the Naked 2 palette. They each have twelve gorgeous neutral eyeshadows & cost $50. Recently they have come out with the Naked Basics which has six neutral eyeshadows, but still costs $27. I've had my eye on the Naked 2 for some time now, hoping the price would drop, but due to its popularity, it hasn't happened. The reason I'm not willing to pay $50 is because I have most of the colors on my professional palettes, so I can't justify spending $50 dollars on eyeshadows I already have. The reason I wanted the Naked 2 palette is because I really love these neutral colors. I like that they are together in a smaller palette, so that I can keep it in my vanity for personal use, so my big and bulky professional palettes can remain in my makeup train to use on my clients. I recently found a palette at Walmart by Physician's Formula called Nude Shimmer that looks similar to the Naked 2 palette. So I bought it and crossed my fingers, hoping that I didn't just waste $9.63. As soon as I opened it, I swatched it on the back of my hand & was sadly disappointed. I threw it into my vanity drawer where it sat for almost two weeks.

As I was organizing new makeup I purchased over the weekend, I came across the Nude Shimmer palette and remembered a conversation I had with my girlfriend about the importance of a good eyeshadow primer, especially when using cheaper eyeshadows. So I took out the Nude palette with my favorite eyeshadow primer by Urban Decay and gave it another go. The primer definitely did the trick. If you currently don't have an eyeshadow primer or are looking to try a new one, I highly recommend Eyeshadow Primer Potion by Urban Decay.  I got the primer for $9 at Nordstrom Rack, it's usually $20 at Sephora or Ulta. So ladies if you've had your eye on any of the Naked palettes but don't want to spend a fortune, try the Physician's Formula's Nude Shimmer palette. It's a great dupe at an affordable price. Rihanna Grammy's Look

I have used high-end and professional products for 7 years now, ever since I graduated from cosmetology school and became a hairdresser. Now that I am doing makeup tutorials on You Tube I have been purchasing drugstore products to make it more affordable and accessible for viewers to achieve the same look with out spending a fortune. Some have worked out well, while others are complete duds. So I'm starting now with my first win!

L'Oreal 8 Hour Infallible Le Gloss - 320 Red Fatale

I am really digging this lip gloss. When I saw Rhianna on the red carpet at the Grammy's this year I was obsessd with her look, from her head down to her toe. I took my little happy ass to CVS to look for that red lip color. Although I have the color in one of my professional lip palettes, I needed something that could fit into my purse to reapply. Her lip color had a matte finish, but the matte lipsticks were all out in that shade of red. I had to settle for a lip gloss that was close, but a bit pricey for the drugstore. It was $10.50 which is close to what I pay for my Sephora lip gloss which I love, love, love! The L'Oreal claimed to last up to 8 hours, but I was skeptical because come on now, a lip gloss lasting up to 8 hours? Yeah, right! I was desperate and really wanted the the lip color right away so I can get to creating the look. So I sucked it up and bought it. OH MY GOSH did it not only last, but it was true to color, a fire engine red. I put it on the next day and got many compliments on it. I left the house at 8:30 a.m. to meet with a makeup client, and then I ran some errands afterwards. I threw my Infallible Le Gloss in my purse, just in case (I still doubted its staying power) but not once did I have to reapply. I got home at 4:00 p.m. and my lips were still juicy red. My neighbor even stopped me to compliment my red lips as I got out of my car. It even has a shiny silver cap you can use as a mirror to apply on the go, although you might not need to. This L'Oreal Infallible Le Gloss in color 320 Red Fatale is definitely a win! It's still a bit expensive, so I looked around the store for local sales or coupons. Walgreen's is having a buy one, get one half off sale , so I'll be going there to pick up some more shades like pink topaz and cherry flash.
